Drum roll please.....

I know that you have all been anxiously awaiting the announcement of who will be the long term sub for Ms. Cone. As you know these are big shoes to fill. Ha! :)
We spent the past 2 weeks interviewing for just the "right fit" for my classroom and our 3rd grade team. We have a name and a face! Her name is Carly Smith and she is a recent graduate from Texas A&M. She did her student teaching in the Fall at Curtsinger Elementary in 4th grade.
She was able to come in today and meet the kiddos and see a little bit about Anderson and more specifically our class. She will be spending more time with us in the weeks to come so that we will have a smooth transition. I feel confident that Miss Smith will do a wonderful job and your kids will grow to love and respect her as they do with me.
I have 8 weeks until these baby girls come and we're hoping that they stay put until its time. I will not be returning after Spring Break if they have not come before then, so I can prepare and rest until their arrival.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to contact me.

More than half way!

We just celebrated our 2nd 9wks grading period! Woo Hoo!

Remember to be practicing those multiplication Facts with your child at home. Make it a game or something fun to do.

My favorite "Quote of the Week":
"Ms. Cone, My brother and I agree that your belly looks like a beach ball!"
I love it! The kids crack me up!

Have a great weekend! Stay warm!

Happy New Year!

I can't believe that we are almost halfway through our school year! You have an awesome almost 4th grader! :)

We are really working hard and showing more responsibility. Hopefully this will help out at home too! Everyone in our class has a weekly job and they are great at helping our classroom run smoothly.

This week we are studying seeds and how they help our environment.
In Math we are working on fractions.
In Reading we are learning about why an author might write a story. Ask your child about how PIE can help them. :)
In Writing we're learned about how to stay on topic.

We are collecting Newspapers, so before you recycle them at home, have your child bring them to school for a grade level project.
